The Simple Solution For Success

It’s so easy to let your mind get preoccupied and lose track of your goals and dreams. The world is more full of distractions than ever before, and they are all at our fingertips – social networking, computer games, television, mobile devices, and so on. And even if you don’t give in to those distractions, there are life distractions – kids, household chores, errands… How do you stay focused on success?

First of all, no one can remain focused on one thing all day every day. That would be impossible, especially in this world where multiple demands are characteristic of the average day. But you can focus on success by adopting a successful mindset. Here are some ideas on keeping focused on success.

Keep a Log

Every day, write in a log or journal about what you did for your business that day. Note particularly all your successes and things you did toward your goals. If you spent the morning designing a logo, that’s not wasted time – that’s a success, and a step toward your goal. When you log in this way, you will also be able to see areas where you are losing focus and need to step things up a bit.

Write Your Goals

You probably know this, but writing down your goals is important. What you may not have thought of is displaying them where you can see them. Keep them nearby – maybe even frame them – so that you can look often and get your mind back on achieving success.

Visualize

Visualizing takes the concept of the daydream up several notches. Taking some time every day to visualize your success can help. Take a few quiet minutes and envision yourself succeeding. Be specific – if this is about your business, imagine yourself meeting clients, making them happy, and then imagine those clients telling others.

If this is about personal success, imagine the details of a successful relationship, a harmonious family, or a different lifestyle. Try to make it real, as if you’re watching it happen. Think in vivid colors, sights, and sounds.

Don’t Be Hesitant

Experts say that it can hamper your success if you keep thinking you need a back-up plan “just in case.” It may be better just to go for it 100 percent and not look back. Otherwise, you may jump into your back-up plan at the first sign of trouble, and success takes effort.

Tips on Developing a Successful Mindset

It may be that your state of mind can make the difference between a successful business and a failed one. It can make a difference in your personal satisfaction and how others view your business efforts. Developing a successful mindset is key. But how? Here are some tips.

Be Realistic

Having impossible-to-reach goals is a good way to set yourself up for discouragement. You want to have goals that are high enough to inspire you, but not so high that you miss them again and again. If you are having trouble meeting your goals and thinking positively, stop and take an assessment of your goals. Maybe you need to pull your goals back down toward the earth a bit.

Challenge Yourself

On the other hand, you might find yourself getting negative about your business because you are not challenged. If it is just too easy to meet your goals, perhaps your goals are not high enough. Challenge yourself, but keep it manageable.

Keep Positive Company

When you hang around with negative nay-sayers, it tends to rub off. Your acquaintances might be jealous of you, too, and threatened by your success. Try to keep company with upbeat people whose excitement is contagious.

Write Your Dreams

Keep a list handy of all the reasons you started your home-based business. Look at it whenever you feel overwhelmed or negative. Remind yourself of why you’re doing this. This list might include financial goals, too, and why you want to earn that money.

Don’t Blame Others

Don’t blame others for your failures. Of course, it’s not positive to beat yourself up over your failures, either. The healthy way to handle failure is to take responsibility for the failure and learn from it. Think of it as a motivational moment – you can improve and not make the same mistakes again.

Be Bold

Sometimes, you can exhibit a negative mindset by being too cautious. If you always feel the need to have several back-up plans before taking any risk or venture, it can hold you back. Being sensible about risks is healthy, but being overly cautious can paralyze you.

Confidence in Your Abilities

Sometimes it’s hard to believe in yourself and your talents. But if you want to develop a positive mindset, you need to think well of yourself and your skills. Have confidence in your skills. There may be others who have similar skills, but no one has your personality behind them.

Four Secrets to Achieving Success

Four Secrets to Achieving Success

Everyone wants to be successful. Focus generally tends to be towards career success. However, personal or life success, is also important. Success is about achieving goals. After all if you haven’t got a goal then how can you be successful? So what are the four secrets that can help you be successful?

Set Goals

It is vital that you set yourself goals for your personal and professional lives. These will provide a target to aim for. Once you’ve listed your goals then write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them. Add who or what can help you to your list. Find an accountability partner, mentor or coach who can help and support you.

Remember That Your Personal and Professional Lives Are Inter-dependent

You may think that your career goals are totally separate from your personal goals. However, they are inter-dependent. Your career relies on your well-being, impacts on your family and relationships, your health and happiness. Your happiness, relationships and health are affected by your career. If you’re not happy at work or doing a job you love then it will have an impact on your emotional and physical well-being, as well as affecting other areas of your personal life.

To be successful in one area you need to create success in the other.

Find Your Passion and Purpose

If your personal and professional lives are inter-dependent, then to be successful in them you will need to discover your passion and purpose. By discovering these you will create determination to succeed, enhance your creativity, spark inspiration and be able to harness the power of flow in your activities.

Ask yourself what you really want to do with your life. What do you want your legacy to be?

Don’t Focus on the Money

While many people consider amassing wealth to be a sign of success, that should not be your end goal or sole success indicator.

Instead focus on your emotions, lifestyle and well-being. What will your life look and feel like when you have successfully achieved your goals? How will your family and friends feel? Why not create a vision board with words, quotes and pictures showing your life as a success?

When thinking about your professional success consider how you will know you’ve succeeded. What will your position be? How will you be making an impact in your company and in the wider community? What will your working day look like? Think about work/life balance and the effect on your family and relationships with friends. How will your new role or business affect your life, health and happiness?

While success can mean different things to different people, one thing all definitions have in common is that success is measured by achieving goals that make you feel positive emotions, for example, happiness and achievement. You will find the greatest success comes when you use your passions to create your goals in life and work.

Taking Chances for Bigger Thrills

Taking Chances for Bigger Thrills

People want to be safe in everything they experience. We always want to see if others experienced something before we decide to pursue that experience ourselves. But the very idea of staying safe can actually bring us to a point of not living the life we really want to live.

Take skydiving, for instance. Many people would shy away from jumping out of an airplane as they fear the parachute won’t open when it is supposed to. Even having a reserve or emergency parachute will not change their minds. And there certainly have been instances where both the main parachute and the reserve did not open and the skydiver plunged to his or her death.

So why do people do such things as skydiving or mountain climbing, etc.? The answer is because they get a thrill from doing it. Many will call it a “head rush” but it means the same thing. Natural thrill seekers and daredevils never seem to have a problem with the risks associated with these activities. But for everyone else, it can take a lot to muster up the courage and go on a thrill seeking adventure.

If you want to break through this, the way to do it is to choose activities that don’t have as high a perceived risk. For instance, many indoor rock climbing facilities harness the participants such that if they slip, the harness will keep them from falling to the ground. The thrill can still be there for these less risky activities. And it is often a great stepping stone for moving onto higher risk thrills.

A portion of taking chances (or not) is part of a person’s traits. As mentioned previously, some people are naturally prone to taking big chances while others would never conceive of doing such things. However, we all have the ability to push ourselves past our own traits. Often, this is accomplished with the help of friends that are thrill seekers themselves. Since they have experience in various thrill seeking activities and are still alive to talk about it, you may feel more at ease when trying them out for yourself when those friends are with you. They can also answer any questions you have about the activities that you may not be clear on.

Whether you will ever make it to daredevil status (and whether you should) depends on several factors including your own personality. But consider pushing yourself to a place where you take chances that you would not normally take. It can be the thrill of a lifetime!

Time Management and Efficiency Go Hand-In-Hand

Time Management and Efficiency Go Hand-in-Hand

If you want to know the best time management system available, the answer is, choose one. This may seem like a cop-out to you. But, it’s like a gym membership. What is the most expensive gym membership available? The one you never use.

Time management systems are going to have similar traits from one to the next. Whether one is better than the other is largely dependent on who is trying to get you to use theirs. If you find a time management system, give it a shot and see if it is right for you.

The key is to find one. That is going to be one of the main components of increasing your efficiency. If you read about a particular system, implement it for a couple of months and see how it goes. But, and this is crucial, keep going. The worst time management system is not having one. You will be spinning your wheels if you go this route.

Time management is going to take discipline and habit, especially if you haven’t been doing it. You need to get started, and you continue using it. If you are one that believes habits form in 28 days, then use your system for 28 days. Just make sure you have something in place that allows you to evaluate that system. Hopefully, you will be experiencing higher productivity during that period.

Don’t get discouraged if you stop using your system. Maybe it isn’t the right one for you. Find another one. Ask colleagues and friends for suggestions. Just make sure you “get back on the horse.” Once your time management system is habitual and useful, there will be no stopping your progress.

When you discover a time management system that works for you, become an advocate. You can help others and in the process help yourself. If you and your team are operating more efficiently through the use of proper time management, your company becomes a bit more efficient as a result. Who knows, your team may become the model for the company. Stranger things have happened.

One outcome that is highly likely is your team will get recognition. You will get your tasks done faster and will be able to take on more than you were able to before. You and your team will prove to your management that you are capable of taking on bigger and better tasks. It’s all possible with the help of time management.
