When Newbies want to earn income from an online business, they face a steep learning curve. Each step of the internet marketing journey is broken into manageable areas here and should help ease the ache of the learning process.
Autoresponders are your most important resource when you start your new online business. Your autoresponder is 24-hour hour call to action machine. An autoresponder is the place internet marketers house their mailing lists. This all important email list is the bread and butter of your online business. So when selecting an autoresponder, make sure you choose the BEST. What is the best autoresponder? Good question.
Types of Autoresponders
There are 3 the different types of autoresponders:
* Self-Hosted – This is installed on your own hosting such as Autoresponse Plus.
* Third party Hosted Autoresponder – This is paid monthly or annually such as GetResponse, MailChimp or aWeber.
* Free Autoresponders – No fees are involved such as Freeautobot or Responders
For self-hosted autoresponders, the advantages are the cost-saving since it is a one-time purchase. However, it may not be stable and can lead to delivery issues. You would have to get a dedicated server and that may not be cost-effective.
The third-party hosted autoresponder is my preferred approach. This is much more reliable and there is fast transmission of emails. If you encounter problems, getting assistance is easy. But this convenience comes at a price, it may be more than $100 per month depending on the size of your email list. Merely start at the lowest tier and work hard to increase the size of your email database.
Free autoresponders should not be used. If the free autoresponder becomes defunct, your email database is lost, all your hard work would be for naught. You may also have to deal with reliability issues.
Single or Double Opt-in ?
With the single opt-in, your autoresponder redirects your subscribers to affiliate pages or thank you pages after they opt in.
With the double opt-in, subscribers have to check their email and click on the verification link to confirm their email subscription. After this additional step, they are then directed to the affiliate or thank you/ download page.
The advantage of the single opt-in is 100% verification and 100% of your subscribers will see your affiliate offers, but they can input someone else’s email address and you might become susceptible to spam complaints.
With the double opt-in, “you think youre” 100% safe from spam, but you could possibly lose up to 40% to 50% of those not able to even receive your verification email.
How to Ensure Everyone Receives your Emails ?
Be sure that you inform your subscribers to whitelist your email address so they are not be sent to the junk folder.
